1) AMPI Young Investigator Award
AMPI Young Investigator Award instituted in 2005 with the financial support of Prof. Suntharalingam, USA to encourage young medical physicists who are doing commendable research and development work carries a cash prize and a certificate. This award is given to an AMPI Life Member who is less than 35 years of age and has a few good quality publications in refereed journals. Applications providing complete personal and academic details indicating AMPI Life Membership Number can be submitted to the Joint Secretary, AMPI. Copy of the publications should also be enclosed along with the application for evaluation. The application for this award should reach the AMPI Joint Secretary, Dr. E. Vardharajan (varatharaj_c@rediffmail.com) on or before 15th Oct 2026, 5PM.
2) AMPI Meritorious Medical Physicist Award
Meritorious Medical Physicist Award instituted in 1999 jointly by Dr. M. R. Raju and Shri P. S. Vishvanathan is to be given to an Indian Medical Physicist who is doing commendable job with the limited resources in a cancer hospital located in a rural area. The award carries a cash prize and a certificate. Eligible candidates may send their applications to the Secretary, AMPI along with a write-up which describes and supports his candidature for the award. Recommendations of two referees (senior medical physicist/ radiation oncologist/ head of the institution, etc) who know the work of the applicant should also be submitted along with the application. The application for this award should reach the AMPI Joint Secretary, Dr. E. Vardharajan (varatharaj_c@rediffmail.com) on or before 15th Oct 2026, 5PM.
3) AMPI Dr. CP Joshi Research Award in Medical Physics
AMPI Dr. CP Joshi Research Award in Medical Physics has been instituted in 2026, the Golden Jubilee year of AMPI, in memory of Late Dr. Chandra P. Joshi, a distinguished AMPI member and strong supporter of medical physics education and research in India. The award is supported by AMPI members Dr. Manoj K. Semwal and Dr. Anil K. Bansal and will be given annually up to 2035. It carries a cash prize of Rs. 35,000/- and a certificate.
The award is to be given to an AMPI Life Member working in India in the field of medical physics and below 45 years of age as on 31st December of the award year. Evaluation will be based on original research publications in which the applicant is the first or corresponding author, considering Journal Impact Factor, citations and relevance to medical physics. Applications for the 2026 award should be submitted in the prescribed proforma with supporting documents and publication details to the AMPI Joint Secretary, Dr. E. Vardharajan (varatharaj_c@rediffmail.com) on or before 15th Oct 2026, 5PM.
AMPI Financial Assistance
AMPI encourages participation of its members in Association conferences in large numbers. Needy AMPI members are provided partial financial assistance by the AMPI. An application to this effect may be sent to the AMPI Joint Secretary, Dr. E. Vardharajan (varatharaj_c@rediffmail.com) by email indicating membership number and date/month/year of obtaining AMPI membership. Preference will be given to those members who have a paper for the presentation in the conference. Last date to receive a request for financial assistance is 15th Oct 2026, 5PM.
All the winners will be awarded in the valedictory function of AMPICON2026 at Goa.
The decision of the EC Jury will be final.
